Sakya Trizin Rinpoche arrives in Gangtok

Sakya Trizin Rinpoche, the Supreme Head of Mahayana Buddhism, arrived at Sa-Ngor Chotshog Centre [Ngor Gompa], Gangtok from Kalimpong on Sunday. He was received at Rangpo by officials and representatives from various monasteries and associations.
Today the Rinpoche called on Governor of Sikkim, Shriniwas Patil at Raj Bhavan. His Holiness was accompanied by Gyalyum Chenmo, Dungsay Rinpoche, Director Namgyal Institute of Tibetology and officials of Ecclesiastical Department on the occasion.

A press release from Raj Bhavan informs that it was a courtesy call by Sakya Trizin Rinpoche who is on an official visit to Sikkim from 11 to 22 October 2015. The Rinpoche is scheduled to visit various places of Buddhist importance in and around the capital and give discourses on Zhenpa Zhidal Teachings and other subjects of spiritual significance at Sa-Ngor Chotsog Centre, Rongyek, Gangtok.
Governor extended warm welcome for the Rinpoche's visit to Sikkim and sought his continued blessings for peace, prosperity and harmony among the people of Sikkim. During interaction, the Governor enquired about the Rinpoche's seat, activities and journeys in his spiritual pursuits in the country.
While making a special mention about Sikkim’s uniqueness, Sakya Trizin Rinpoche recalled his earlier visit and expressed his joy of getting another opportunity to witness the warmth and love from the sacred place blessed by nature and protected by guardian deities.
